In 1992, the Dale Stine family made a $100,000 memorial gift to the Foundation for the purpose of physician recruitment and educational loans.
The educational loan funds are for students who are pursuing their studies in a chosen medical field. The applicant must be accepted into or currently enrolled in an accredited program of a recognized health career. Recipients are selected by the Foundation Board based on needs in the Health System service area, the need of the applicant and the likelihood the applicant will be successful in completing his or her degree. In granting these loans, the Foundation hopes to encourage these new medical resources to stay close to home by granting interest-free repayment if they choose to return and serve in the Valley County Health System service area.
The Foundation extends our appreciation to the Dale Stine family for making physician recruitment funds and student loans possible. Attention RN students: *If you receive the Stine loan through the VCHS Foundation and return to work at VCHS for a minimum of two years, there is loan forgiveness option available through VCHS. (See application for details.)
