Best Part About Leading the VCHS Foundation Board The VCHS Foundation plays a vitally important role in ensuring that the needs of Valley County Health System are met. The Foundation was started over 20 years ago by people who truly cared about the future of healthcare in this region, and it is an honor to lead a team of volunteers who are also passionate about healthcare and the people we serve, both now and into the future.

Family Husband - Grady Gydesen Children - Trace & Conner
The Valley County Health System (VCHS) Foundation welcomes Jolene Gydesen as the new VCHS Foundation executive director. Gydesen, originally from Fullerton, resides in Ord with her husband Grady, two year old son Trace and new baby arriving in July. Previously working in communications and marketing, Gydesen is excited to apply her skills and knowledge in this new role. The VCHS Foundation is a non-profit, tax-exempt charitable organization that seeks, receives and administers donations and gifts for the sole benefit of VCHS. The organization purchases new equipment or updates technology for VCHS, as well as provides educational and physician recruitment loans to medical students and providers, respectively. The Foundation also oversees the work of the VCHS Child Development Committee. "I'm excited about my new role at VCHS as the Foundation Director. It's an opportunity for me to be active in the hospital community and to be engaged with the community I now call home, says Director Jolene Gydesen. “Taking this position, I'm eager to participate in events and hopefully introduce new ones to Ord and the neighboring areas served by VCHS!"
